The national minimum wage increases to $26.44 per hour ($1,004.90 per week) from the first full pay period starting on or after 1 July. Minimum award wages also increase by 4.75%.

Why it matters:
Businesses should ensure payroll software, employment contracts and labour cost forecasts are updated immediately to remain compliant.

Who is affected: 
All employers paying award wages or the National Minimum Wage.
